Rebecca Findlay

I was born in Lancashire and lived there until I relocated to Hertfordshire in 2004. I live with my partner John; who is also works in Local Government and I have one son.

I accepted the post of Clerk to Welwyn Parish Council and Responsible Financial Officer in May 2004, serving an electorate of approximately 10,000, with a budget of around £270,000 and presently have six staff. Prior to this, I was Executive Secretary of the Lancashire Association of Town and Parish Councils, providing advice and support to over 220 Parish and Town Councils and implemented the County Training Partnership in Lancashire and the Quality Parish and Town Council Accreditation Panel. I held this post from 2001 to 2004 until I relocated to Hertfordshire. Previously, I was Clerk to another Parish Council and, before that, a civil servant with the DSS Benefits Agency.
